Your grade.
Built from your shot.
Upload a frame. We analyze the lighting, faces, sky, exposure — and generate a custom DaVinci Resolve node tree tuned to that exact image. Distilled from 200+ professional colorist tutorials.
Analyzing
Not a filter. Not a 1-click LUT. Gradecraft builds the actual node tree — Power Windows on the right places, curves on the measured values of your shot. The look is yours, the architecture is built.
How it works
1. You drop a frame. We measure exposure values pixel-by-pixel with FFmpeg signalstats — actual IRE numbers, not estimates.
2. Claude Vision identifies what's in the frame: faces and where, sky and whether it's blown, lighting direction, camera profile, mood.
3. We match against a corpus of color recipes distilled from 200+ professional colorist tutorials. The best match becomes your node tree.
4. We generate a .drx PowerGrade — Power Window coordinates derived from the actual face/sky bounding boxes in your frame, curves with concrete values based on your measured IREs.
5. You either download the file and drag into Resolve, or paste your code into the Gradecraft companion script in Resolve and the grade applies live to your active clip.
Install Companion (Resolve Studio)
One-time setup, 30 seconds.
1. Download the companion script: Gradecraft.py
2. Drop it into Resolve's Utility Scripts folder:
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Fusion/Scripts/Utility/
Windows: %APPDATA%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Scripts\Utility\
3. In Resolve: Workspace → Scripts → Utility → Gradecraft → paste your code.
Note: requires DaVinci Resolve Studio. The free version blocks scripting. Free-tier users can use the .drx download path.
